MEET MÜGE GABBOTT

Müge dedicated decades on designing people solutions for supporting the business transformation and change via her pragmatic, effective and data-driven solutions.

Her philosophy is: “If it doesn’t add value to our business, we simply skip it.”

From Engineering to People Management

Müge dreamed to be a heart surgeon (and a singer as a side hobby) and that quickly proved itself not the right course once she recognized that she has very limited capability to study biology during her teens. That is how she has found herself studying Engineering and never regretted since then. Up to this day, she still counts on decision trees and game theory on her decision making.

She was set to leave for UK after the graduation, where she completed a long term internship in Derby, but life had its own plans (9/11) and visas were cancelled.

This is how Müge’s career journey started in 2002 in Turkey in one of the biggest holding groups, Kibar Holding, as a management trainee, where she contributed to key initiatives supporting the company’s organisational transformation.

She later relocated to Switzerland in 2008 to join SICPA, a global provider of security inks and traceability solutions, based in Lausanne. Prior to founding Gabbott Consultancy, in her last corporate role, Müge oversaw operations in 25 countries, working closely with C-level executives as a BU Board Member, working passionately on people and organisational solutions.

Remaining as a curious learner all her life, she now holds an MBA degree from Esslingen University in Germany, Executive Development Program in IMD, Lausanne and international OKR certification from OKR Institute in addition to her Industrial Engineering degree from Marmara University, Istanbul. She also acts as a member of Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.

Nowadays, Müge works, creates, sings in a band, travels far and often to see loved ones, is a serial book reader and mother to 2 kids. She still follows “trial-and-error” method on balancing life and priorities, and is determined to learn from her failures.

“I commit to provide a fresh look on people & organisation practices to reimagine the traditional approaches to fit the agility and the proximity need of your world - to the extent that HR - as we know it - is reinvented!
